Empowering Youth Leaders
Join Scout Troop 60
About Us
Troop 60 is a youth-led Scout Troop founded in 2011, serving the scouts of the Lake Cities, including Shady Shores, Corinth, Lake Dallas, and Denton. The troop uses the Patrol Method and emphasizes a youth-led approach, empowering scouts to take charge of their learning and growth. We became a Family Troop in the Spring of 2026.
Troop 60 camps every month, previous campouts have focused on topics as varied as backpacking, cycling, wilderness survival and wakeboarding. Troop 60 attends a weeklong Scout Summer Camp every June and offers High Adventure opportunities to older youth, including trips to BSA High Adventure Bases like Philmont, Northern Tier and Seabase.
Troop 60 partners with Pack 60 and Crew 60 to serve youth from Kindergarten to 21.
Troop 60 is a member of the Frontier Trails District of the Longhorn Council and is chartered by Shady Shores Baptist Church.
